I am currently writing this while sitting in my empty classroom, listening in to the virtual lesson of the substitute. The classroom is empty because my professor let the class know that he would be absent today. I am on a zoom call because he also said we needed to either come in person or join virtually for the sub, and I did both. The classroom is empty because my colleagues are smarter than I am and simply did not show up. The overachiever tendencies that I thought I had outgrown are rearing their silly heads now that I am back in a classroom.
I started this course after being placed (in what I can only guess is a sheer lack of oversight) in the A2 course at the very end of the course, literally right before the final unit exam. I have now, by luck and blessing, tested into B1, truly by the skin of my teeth. So this is the beginning of a grand new adventure for which I am not ready, but will be embarking on.
Circumstances are always more fun when they are unexpected.
