Dimples on the Edge

I recently started tutoring English online, as a former teacher and TEFL-certified educator.

What a load of crock.

The commission is 33% and all trial lessons are 100% commission. It’s highway robbery, especially given that the trial lessons can be 50mins long. It is a huge misfortune that I am unable to work while I am abroad, as it has resulted in me needing to take on this “independent contractor” work that allows for companies to take advantage of their contractees.

I never wanted to be part of the gig economy and I abhor that this is what I have been reduced to as I scramble to find my way and get to a sustained point of making ends meet.
